Do I need an appointment to visit the hat bar?
No appointment needed. Walk into Steel & Saddle at Marathon Village anytime during store hours. The hat bar is first come, first served — no pressure, no upsell.
Where is the Steel & Saddle hat bar located?
We are at Marathon Village, Suite 21, 1200 Clinton St, Nashville, TN 37203. Just west of downtown, a few minutes from Broadway. Parking is available on site.
How do you shape a cowboy hat at the hat bar?
Every hat comes open crown. Our team uses steam and hat shapers to crease the crown and roll the brim exactly how you want it. Common shapes include the cattleman, the gus, and the pinch front. If you are not sure, we will help you figure out what fits your face and your style.
How long does hat shaping take?
Most hats are shaped in 15 to 30 minutes. You can browse the shop while you wait or watch the process. Either way you are walking out the same day with a hat that fits.
Can you reshape a cowboy hat I already own?
Yes. Bring your hat in and our team can re-steam and reshape it. Whether the brim has lost its roll or the crown needs a fresh crease, we can get it back where it belongs.
What is the difference between wool felt and straw cowboy hats?
Wool felt is heavier, warmer, and holds a crease exceptionally well — the go-to for fall and winter. Straw is lightweight and breathable, built for summer heat. Bangora and shantung straw are the two most common types at the hat bar, both known for durability and clean finish.
Do you ship cowboy hats?
Yes. All cowboy hats are available at steelsaddle.co and ship nationwide. Online orders ship open crown unless shaping is arranged in person. Come visit the hat bar for the full experience.
Is Steel & Saddle the only hat bar in Nashville?
We are Nashville's outlaw western hat bar at Marathon Village. Premium wool felt and straw cowboy hats, shaped on site, for people who actually live the western lifestyle. Not a tourist shop. Not a costume rack.
