Who we are
Old West, New Verse
Steel & Saddle is western wear out of Nashville. The look comes from the old western films and the outlaw country records made in this town. The version of the West with dust on it and a score behind it.
Was it ever really like that? Mostly not. That was never the point. The story is the part worth keeping. Every shirt we make is one more verse of it.

Everywhere he went, and everything it cost to get there.
Hand-tooled leather, shaped to a working horse over years of use. Every mile it ever covered is worn into it. That's where the stories come from.

Burned into the hide. Cut into the neck.
A rancher burned his brand into the hide so everyone knew whose it was. A guitar maker cuts a diamond into the neck so a player always knows where he is. Both go in, and neither comes off. Ours goes on everything we make.

Outlaw country taught us how to tell it
Johnny Cash. Waylon Jennings. Willie Nelson. Merle Haggard. Hank Williams Sr. They told hard stories without sanding off the edges. Some lived them. Some borrowed them. What mattered was making the story feel true.
That is the craft we carry forward.

Heavyweight cotton, garment-dyed so it starts out sun-faded instead of waiting years to get there. Prints that soften a little more every wash.

How we work
We make merch the way this town makes songs
A songwriter doesn’t report the truth. They tell it. Three chords, a character, a place, one line that lands, and everything else gets cut.
That is how every design here gets made: a moment you could sing a verse about, drawn by hand, and nothing on the shirt that does not earn its place.

The man behind the mark
Steel & Saddle started with founder Blake Smith, a stack of western films, and a stubborn idea that the old West still had a few verses left in it.
Nashville Voyager sat down with Blake to talk about the brand, the town, and the road that got him here.
